anyone know what locates the front left driveshaft inner cv into the diff? mine can move in and out by around 20mm and this makes the shoulder that the seal runs on leave the seal. it also menas that much of the splined area between the cv joint and the inside of the diff is not actually in contact

 

nothing locates the front nearside shaft in place its only on the offside shaft that there is a groove in the splines for a circlip to keep it located in the side of the diff

 

the spring inside the inner cv joint has probably broken.
