Default what is this pipe for? 2wd cossie

can anyone explain the below pic to me please?

basically i'm rebuilding a Sapphire cossie and i had to order some bits from Paul at North Yorks, they arrived and i was putting them in the car but i dont understand one of the pipes

here's the pic

the pipe is fitted to a T piece which in turn fits to the back of the inlet, the pipe has been blocked off so A) what was it for and B) can i remove it

Looks like it has been T'd off for a boost gauge (or aftermarket boost controller).

also - the earth ring next to the battery tray looks shite - change it

Correct ,,its for a boost gauge

Just remove it mate if you dont need it and put a stright connecter in the pipe

This was the only plastic top pipe i had mate
