Default 420-450 bhp what turbo and engine Spec

My buddy Steve has decided he wants to up his power on the cossie.

He asked me what the best spec for a really nice driveable 420-450bhp

He dont want anything too laggy so possibly a GT series Turbo

Also wants to know peoples thought on compression ratios, head mods, headgaskets that are up to the job, e.t.c.

He still wants a good driveable car, hes engine build starts in 2 weeks,

All i have told him was choose the power you want and choose the smallest turbo you can get away with to get there

My 247 Maram Shaft T4 may be for sale within that time. Will do 450 all day long and with anti-lag obviously there is no lag.

In fact the whole engine will probably for sale very soon.

both low mileage

depends on the size jase really but i should imagine martins internally gated gt30 will be a good turbo for 450bhp and with room left for over kill

I would talk to Darren at Damico about a De Shroud on the inlets about Ł275, then a T34.48 with group a YB 0611 headgasket, chip to suit either greys or siemens.
The T34.48 will do 400 all day long, but 450 would really be better with a T38.55 I would say.
The head mods really bring it alive low down, in town trundling along at 15/20 I am in 3/4 gear and VERY responsive accelration at this speed, I am running a T34.48, and get 150lbft@1500rpm 330lbft@2300rpm and it holds 330lbft past 6000rpm, it does NOT drop off at all, due to the very small amount of headwork.

engine spec = whatever takes ur fancy cos someone will allways say different...........turbo = i'm using a ut t38..............my next stage is head work, cam, injectors and a re-map................this should/will see a good 450bhp,not sure on the ft/lbs this will give though, as it's a pretty smooth turbo.............

For a really nice 420 bhp, I would suggest a 3.6l flat boxer engine twin turboed, and preferably hanging over the back wheels.

I would suggest a 4x4 transmission also!

Thats some funny ass GT28RS people have if they think it will even get 400, never mind 450

Id say something like a GT3071R at mega boost, 2.5bar (thats still on the compressor map on that turbo) or summat (for maximum torque and so you dont need a too big turbo, like T4), as high comp as you can get away with at that sorta boost (8:1? 7.5? TBH it dont make much odds in reality), lowest duration cams you can get away with (standard? i dunno), mildly ported head, not big ports, just make it all better, etc etc.

Basically keep everything as small and as big boost as possible for the power you want, for maximum torque and response.

A T34.48 has done as good as 400bhp(397.6) on regular(Vpower) fuel, with the same modded head as mine, by the same person who did my head.

Tabetha...your talk sense on one hand then bollocks on the other Sorry but a .48 can not get a genuine 400bhp on pump fuel unless the result is from a rolling road in 3rd gear and set to bullshit figure to impress you mode.
...if you think a .48 keeps revving you aint been in a cossie with either a bigger exhaust housing or a bigger turbo then!

Fucking T34.48 PMSL

Mid 300s game over

I cant reach 400bhp on a .55 and a .63 is not exactly pissing it, a .48 dont stand a chance

400 bhp on a .63 iv seen loads of time peaking 2.1, holding 1.9 / 2 bar.

Seen about 5 or 6 hit 400 - 409

Quick Reply: 420-450 bhp what turbo and engine Spec
