I was talking to Dean from radtec today about this gus.
Give him a call as he will give you the name of several companies that do it.
To a very high standard I hear as well, meaning less chance of scratching the finish in the future.

Said they could could change the color easily
I think they said it was etched back and then re-anodised, the longer the etching time the less of a shine though ...

Caustic soda (from any supermarket/hardware store) can be used to strip anodise, however you might aswell let the person who will be reanodising it black strip it off for you.
If your getting black, ask for it to be hard anodised
