I'm trying to find out which engine I have in my focus as it needs replacing.

I cleaned the engine where the stamp (next to starter motor) is as couldn't read what type it is(FYDA/B/C/D) & the sticker crumpled & came off in loads of bits & its not on my log book either. all I was left with is numbers no letters

Its 1.6 16V Zetec s engine:



I'd be very grateful if anyone knows what type it is?

Am i missing the point? it's a 1.6 SE

 

Yes but, the breakers I phoned said there are four different types of SE and he needs to know which one before he'll let me have one

1.25 L (1242 cc)
1.4 L (1388 cc)
1.6 L (1596 cc)
1.7 L (1679 cc)

You want the 1.6 out the focus, as far as i'm aware there is little difference in the actual engine between the Focus and say the Fiesta Zetec-S, the power difference is down to the ECU/Induction etc...

The only other option I can think of is going to ford and asking them to cross ref your vin plate?
