Bedford 2008 Track Day
Hi, to anyone that is interested i had a Fantastic time on track all the moaning about the car over the last month and the talking of breaking the car are all out the window....
Managed to get my Stack Dash fitted on the day before so i could at least see what revs i was getting as at Donno i kept hitting the rev limiter in 2nd and i now know i was way off full revs in 3rd and 4th
met up with Radders and his mate in his Civic Type R on the M1 on the way there and we Got to Bedford at about 7:30ish, on arrival i unloaded the escos see Andy RS in his 500 and Dave and Helen in the Saph we all said hello before setting off for the noise test, bearing in mind that my exhaust is 3 months old and Glen lent me his air box my car still failed with a 102db and Helens Past
this was shit as i have been preparing for this event for months and seeing that Mikes car went straight though i was not happy lucky enough when the instructor took it for a drive past the noise meters it passed
Went out done a few laps and soon knew i had a problem as the rear end was a bit twitchy and was trying to get out of shape, Had my Monte wheels on with Road Tyres which in the wet are great but as the track was dry i knew i needed to get the 888's out
once i came in went straight over to the Isuzu where i see Mark M_K and his mental little fiesta XRT unfortunately he got Blacked flagged and sent off track later in the day
once back at the Isuzu i got the old style MO's out with the brand new 888's one and started to put them on, this was when Dan off of here who said he would come and say hello came over and asked how it was going and i said "its a bit twitchy on the rear" he replied with "rainbird said you should have put your spoiler back on" didn’t even cross my mind, also the suspension was on the lowest setting so i think it was a combination or road tyres, no spoiler and soft suspension
With the 888's on i grabbed Radders and off we went
once i came in from this session i found Mike polishing his helmet in the pits and got him to take me out in his car 1.5 bar is naughty with a T4 i know that much the first lap was a warm up and wasn’t slow the next 2 was flying anyone we came across got BLITS! Literary then i think once mike knew i was impressed he then went into showboat look at me mode kicking the arse out at every opportunity sowing me how good a driver he was the flash git
by now Jason Franco, Kelvin and Neil aka Bullet had now turned up Top Guys all 3 of them but then i knew that before i even met them Mike jumped in the car and i think 1.5 laps in a Subaru was smoking up near the back straight pulled over so it was off and was about time for lunch anyway
Had a Mouse’s ear of pasta and chips "thanks Charley" and a can of drink before sitting there itching to get back on track.........
1:30 rolled round quick so i got mike back in the car and setoff for some track tuition on most of the corners i wasn’t doing to bad it was only the corner before the pit straight i needed to be flat out in 4th rather than breaking in 3rd and a few that i should of been in 2nd and not 3rd, overall i think he was quite happy with how my driving was progressing and seen as i overtook a few porches and the convertible red Ferrari i was quite chuffed too
next out was me an Franco Kelvin said that we was out for over half and hour and everytime i went to do a cool down lap i see another car or Franc would say sommin that made me want to go faster funny enough look who we were in front of for all of 5 seconds pictures do all the talking
Also me and Franco were trying to get the camera man to take a pick of us with both our thumbs up at the same time yes all 4
Kelvin came out for a few laps after Franco i was a little nervous as i know his car is almost a mirror of mine but has 450ish BHP and he uses it on track and being as i am a novice i suppose i did want to impress him
Last up was dan who had came and said hello earlier in the morning i said i would get him out if i had a chance as i had promist so many people a go out in the car and i missed Mark turn as i couldn’t see him so me and dan set off for a good few laps and he seemed to really enjoy being out in the car him telling me how he loves escos and he might sell his cars and buy one i told him to buy an EVO btw
not saying i was even fast but any of the people who were around me will tell you the only reason i stopped was to sort out my oil breather problem and top her up before jumping straight back on track, other than Goldbum once i had my 888's on and the suspension clicked up 7 clicks the only thing that came past me all day was this Porches
Does anyone know the spec of it? who owns it are they off of here? proper motor and was flying
All in all i had a great Day got to meet loads of new people and my car got a mini feature in Fast ford and not one thing broke
Just like to say a big thanks to everyone and let you all know what a top DAY i had
We wont mention the night time antics

Hi Steve i did see you post on another thread asking how my car went and as you can see above it went really well with no probs thanks for asking as far as the weight loss im not sure if it was down to the rear spoiler being off and there being not so much down force but it really felt like a diffrent car
just got to get it in my head to get under the car and do a full check on every nut and bolt as my car rattles them all loose every track day also picked up my new top mounts that Dan is going to be fitting for me so i will be able to get it setup once and for allcorner weighted ect
Glad you got the box sorted shal i find us a track day then

I knew the box would go, It happens, Shit happens... and I wont learn, Like most people when they buy a performance car.
