Sapph Carbon Bonnets
I have a friend that can get real carbon bonnet's made up for sapphire cossie's.
Do you think there is a market for them?

depends if they are OE replacements or come with a variety or scoop vent options. i would get one but only if it werent a 4x4 sapphire cosworth replica bonnet.

right, no i've been told they are about £1300! Is this too expensive or about right ?

I beleive Mercus makes his for £800 ish.
So your man wants guaranteed orders totalling £26,000 befor ehe starts to make them???
I can get them made for less but its getting the width of the cloth thats the problem.

keep your ears and eyes peeled, have been promised 10 of these (4x4 sapp) before or just after xmas, and I have been waiting nearly a year now 
Problem being is its to hard trying to get somebody to make the mould.
Will put up a post when all is complete.
oh by the way, shall be selling for the £650 or £700, depending on my final cost.

Carbon to most people (ie non car types, ie 80% of population) looks like your cars not painted properly.
And adding a grey/black bonnet to a saff will make them look EVEN MORE like a taxi as in many citys taxis all have black/white bonnets as they supplied free of charge as they get fucked so often...
If you want to save weight buy a fibreglass one and save 100s.

As said £1300 is a bit steep when their alot less than that for 3door ones etc but as no1 else makes them if ppl want 1 they'll pay that much!!
Main thing is to how good they actually come out, most ppl would be more likely to pay if they see an example as they could all be of poor quality and if ppl have paid upfront their buggered!!!
Not sayin they will be just how ppl think

Moose - no I didnt know the price hence the reason for asking if their too much or not - i'm not into asking questions that i already know the answer too 
I will tell my friend about the people that already do them and their price and of course if the quality is good he will go for one of them so TABZ please let me or cossienuts know so I can tell my friend cos I think he will want one
