self employed people, what things do you claim tax back on?

im just wondering what you guys put in to claim tax back on, i.e diesel, insurance, clothes, tools etc etc, reason being the tax man likes to get greedy and for obvious reasons id like to try and hold on to as much of my earnings as poss and was wondering if there were things i could be putting reciepts in for? cheers

As above... Evening meals (Business meetings) Fuel, food, office, storage fees, postage, computers, digital cameras, taxis, batterys, any thing related to van, Tools, hotels, parking, etertaining clients,
The list goes on.... anything you can relate to your work!

i have anoth meals out so that one would be great, i do use an accountant but i know im going to find it hard this year getting a rebate as my earnings are going to be alot higher than last years so i need to satrt addressing the problem now to show tax man i havnt earnt as much lol

anywhere from £250 for sole trader to £1200 for limited company
definately worth using an accountant but make sure you get a good one ask around i got a £5500 rebate last year should hopefully get the same again this year
