Our 362mm 6 pot AP kits are only £120 dearer than our 330 AP 4 pots so getting 6 pots at reasonable dosh isn't a problem

Never had a problemwith them myself.

Alan always bent over backwards to help me and my 65k fiesta z-s drove like a new car under their care. He's a top guy but always hassled by idiots wanting the job done to the exact minute.

Since the short blond chap ( Dave? ) left their cust service has lacked a bit but Alan is a sound guy.

inbetween popping in and out of the ward (i am home for a while looking after junior) i called them
they were busy so i was asked to call back
i called back
after further "explanations" as to why it was a 330 kit and not the 360 kit my options were:

"pay me more money and i'll fit the 360 kit but i'm not sure if the bracket will be strong enough with an additional 15mm on it"

"send them back and i'll give you a refund"

option 2 me thinks

i haven't had any other work done from them so i can't say for 100% if they are good or not as some postrers are suggesting, but my experience with them will end as soon as i've got my money back

doesn't inspire confidence does it? you had better be sure that brake components are strong enough

As a completely different question, what kind of Mondeo needs 360mm discs and 6 pot calipers for road use?

Depends what the car is being used for... Lap after lap on track then big brakes are hard to beat, size really does matter.

quite correct

although once you are used to a set of top stoppers it's difficult to drive something without the same feeling of being able to stop in a hurry

as martin said, big brakes are needed for big stops time after time in quick succession, but on the road in a mondeo?

anyone else got more money than sense and wants to give me some of it?

there is not much difference to be honst between the originals and the 330's even with the 6 pots other than a firmer pedal
bearing in mind they are only just under 200 miles old they would have probably got more bite had they had a chance to bed in further but to have a set of stoppers that stop you in a hurry is what i'm after

the sierra with greenstuffs on 330's and wilwood 4 pots was a demon stopper even from cold and that's the feel i want to replecate on the mondeo and with a set of 18's to fill i might as well go for the biggest i can

but unfortunatly i don't have any more money to give away with month

ROFL!

In all seriousness, you should not be treated like this by anyone!
Martin sort dojj out with some proper brakes!
Also, dojj, hope your little 'un is in good health!

And ROFL at that-

The sad thing is he would have spent slightly more but he would now not have to measure his discs to check against his invoice and this post would never have happened..

what i'm going to do is this:

get a refund from pb
get a hub from ebay
take the hub to martin
attach a bottom ball joint to the hub
attach a track rod end to the hub
leave one of my alloys (i've got a spare 18 so it's not a problem plus i've got aa cover ) with martin
then discuss budget options depending on what will actually fit inside the wheel
and then i will have what i wanted way way back about 6 months ago when i should have actually chosen the other pill

the moral of the story?
ask dojj if he's fucked something up first before figuring out he right way to go about doing it to save yourself the hassle

btw, the mrs is out now so i've been left to type replys wihtout the threat of having to anser her ever beck and call (ducks to avoid the cushion about to be throw)

i might even tell you about coronation street when she's asleep

the focus kit won't fit so they fitted a fiestat kit which only goes up to 330's
So they simply had to phone and say 'sorry the focus kit wont fit, do you want 330's?' to which you would've said 'no thanks I'll have my money back' or lost your deposit - whereas you shouldn't really have lost your deposit as you left it when they said they could do it, but with a Fiesta kti.

It could simply be that someone forgot to phone and tell you that, so it went ahead, but with 330's instead.

I'm sure some uprated discs and pads would've sufficed for a commuter!
