A friend of my dads television broke, I kid you not, they wanted photographs of where it was placed. I have no idea why, but they did.

This is an easy fix...........

1. Remove from wall/stand

2. Drop face down onto floor from about 2 or 3 feet

3. Claim on home insurance saying that it fell off the wall by accident

4. Take delivery of shiny new set

There is a potential for step 3.5 which involves haggling with the supplier and upgrading to a better set but thats your choice.

You say you have a 5yr warrenty - would I be right in guessing this is with John Lewis? If so, then just ring em. In my expirience John Lewis are the tits - my mates TV went tits up after 3 yrs, he had the 5yr warrenty and JL just had the TV collected, and a new one delivered at the same time, no messing around, no engineers, no inspections, just a straight swap and my mate never even had to leave the house!

Look, Sony and Sumsung both joint own the LCD and plasma research and manufacturing plant, so you could say Sony use Samsung panels, or you could say Samsung use Sony panels - they are all a muchness!

Who cares what panel it uses - as long as it looks good and does what you want I don't care, lol....

This is totally beside the point in regard to the OP's thread!!!!!

I jokingly said get a proper TV as your one had blown up and tried to help by saying try Panasonic or Pioneer!

I never mentioned money and only took the piss because YOU started it by talking utter shite about Pioneer and LG using same screens and laughing at me!

So why throw your toys out at me...

Ryan and Nath both said the same as well!

The Sky man who fitted my HD box said "ah, glad to see you got the best screen, the amount of people I visit who buy a LG or Samsung just for the sake of having a flat screen on the wall actually get a worse picture than there old CRT screen". Not my words so don't shoot the messenger! No way do Pioneer use LG screens, you've only got to look at the quality of Planet Earth on an LG screen showing in my local Tescos, then compare it to mine, not even side by side.

I'm not minted by any means (ask the missus who doesn't understand why we've got Ł5k worth of AV gear in the lounge of our first house but the rest of the house is still reletively unfurnished! ) but I still agree, the Pioneer worth the extra, or at the very least a Panny.
