Default What cone filter gives the best chatter?

Going to be getting a new cone filter soon and I want to make the most of my cars new ability to chatter!! So what would you recommend i go for to get the best high pitched chatter sound?

Is there a 'best' one to get in terms of performance as well? Using a T3 by the way!

Cheers, Dan

Surely the air filter can't make -that- much difference?

If you fit a cone filter directly to the turbo intake you will get loads and loads of chatter. Now I try to get rid of it, but I'm too lasy to make a proper induction pipe

Ive got 2x GrpA K+Ns now (ie the hooj alloy trumpet jobs) to be adapted into a short Y piece to join to the turbo, a single Turbonetics T76, the engines specced to run 2bar+ so i think it should have incredibly loud induction noise, well lets hope so, lol

Dont think itd chatter that much as ive got 2 dumpvalves now as im scared il break the turbo letting off at that boost...

why do you all like chatter, its damaging to your turbo, just vent it through a bov like the hks ssq if ya want the chattering sound, helps make ya turbo last longer.
id rather have a decent turbo with a long life than a decent turbo goin pop cos i liked the chatter.

Trust me mate, HKS SQVs dont chatter

The chatter noise with them is due to them having fuckoff strong springs so wont open properly, so the chatter your hearing is from the same thing and damaging your turbo just the same mate

And TBH whos damaged their turbo with chatter on here? I had my T34 running 2bar for 2years with no DV and no damage

This time im running DVs but the turbos a lot bigger and not cheap....

Its been pretty much accepted by everyone that unless your running somthing with T4+ sized comp wheels or 25psi+ then you got nothing to worry bout with no DVs

Yep alex put a bigger cone on his and it just fluttered so he got his old one back out the bin!!!!! He has tried a few different but sticks with his old one

And i have the secret measurements for top chatter Got to get one made up for mine and order him a new one

Have you heard alex's chatter? His turbo is still as strong as ever in perfect order and its been chattering away for long time so that fooks that theory up The turbo aint gone pop because of chatter

running without a dv shortens turbo's life more then running with one. but the dv must not leak air or it will shortens the turbos life also.

why do you think when your boosting 25psi or more or with a turbo like a t-4 and bigger you need a dv. right.

why is a dv invented (spelling) in the first place. not without a reason.

driving without a dv is the thing to do these days and nothing else.
