How come every time you go through a road works, 95% of the workers are either sat there doing nothing or sat there in a van/jcb/truck with their feet on the dash.

And more often than not your almost guarenteed to see one worker working his tits off but with half a dozen others huddled around just watching him. No wonder it takes them forever to get the job done!

 

Roadworks ongoing outside my office at work, regularly sit and watch them doing fuck all for hours, then they all disapeer to their vans for some lunch and a read of the paper.

Guess like most tradesmen they can only do so much without the other tradesmen doing their bit though. (gas pipe guys, water board, BT etc etc)

 

 

Whats even more annyoing is that now the the roadworks at J31-32 on the M1 are completed and the traffics flowing nicely, they decide to start some more between J25-28 now and thats going to last about 3 years.

 

There was a sketch, dont know where it was Triggerhappy tv or something but they set up road works signage etc, and put up barriers into a square shape and in the middle there was a dining room table and chairs with candles on and they were all sat round it eating in the middle of a town with cars going past

Thats right mate everyone skives every now and then, its just road workers seem to do 95% skiving and only work for 5% of the time.

 

And at least not many people know about your lack of work, unlike when road workers are not working, EVERYBODY and their dog knows and they make it so obvious

 

To be honest on a serious note, i really cant see how its allowed to go on. I can do around 500 miles a day so i see it all and it really is bad. Still, if they get away with it you cant blame them i suppose.
