Hi andy
have you seen the AP's that Martin/Reyland has for sale in the traders for sale parts?
there not 8 pots but they are 380mm 6 pots so pretty big and im sure if they are not big enough he will be able to do you a good deal on a set of 8's anyway

want 8 pots as they have 4 pads per side

Awesome brakes but is it 'really' necessary though?
Obviously its for some race car or proper track weapon though i suppose.

yeah thats true.
i've certainly had my share of breakes, never owned 8 pots though, every conciabled 6 pots, and as Tim has said, much more wheel clearance benefits with the AP race versions, the road brembo's seem to have alot of excess material on them making them much harder to mount on large disc and 18's.
as i think they were designed for like 19" wheels on the merc.

tbh I had never even heard of AP 8 pots until this post. Ł400 for pads etc - you folk are nuts! This will sound gay but with such light cars do you need such big brakes? I guess you are braking from higher speeds though. Also do you all use brake ducting for better efficiency as I know this is a major factor in F1 to brake duct size choice etc. Always looks a real pain to set up on a car though.
Are the pads for the brembos the same cost - eg Ł800 just to do the pads on martin's escort?!?!

The Brembo's also use 4 pads per caliper but they don't cost Ł400! They cost Ł110 plus vat per set of four, I would not mind betting the AP's are similar price.
