Default Brick Lane, I love that place!

Went out last night with a lady friend, she lives in Croydon and doesn't come out into London much and when I was talking to her about where she would like to go she said she loves a Curry and one in brick lane as she wanted to know why its so famous (Love at first sight or what )

So off to the Vibe Bar, quick drink and then off to find a curry house.

Immediately inundated with people saying, best curry in Brick Lane 10% off blah blah blah. I ignored most of them and then one came up and said "Sorry to bother you sir, madam, if your out for a meal I would like to invite you to my restaurant, a bottle of wine on the house."

I thought, well seeing as he was being so polite yeah why not. So in we went.

Sat down, got my bottle of wine, and then after 10min, two men came up apologizing profusely (I swear at one point they were going to get on their hands and knees and grovel) and they said sorry but we have had a large group arrive and we need the space. I said not a problem (being the affable guy I was) as we hadn't started yet so moved over two tables while they sorted themselves out. They immediately came up and said, a free drink on the house what would you like. I thought well that makes up for it a bit ordered two drinks and thought fair enough, do them a favor and they gave me a free drink. Fairs fair.

Then 10min later they asked us in the same manner if we could move again, ok, now I'm a bit miffed now. But on this occasion agreed again.

They moved us to a nice quiet romantic spot, the manager came up and apologized profusely offered us more free drinks and said "dont worry we will look after you." There was someone no more than 4 foot from us at any time and as soon as I wanted something they were right there and then we asked for the bill and considering we had two bottles of wine and then four drinks either side of that and a full two course meal with sides it came to... £23

That made me feel better about being moved. Cheapest night out with a girl ever

Stu - why not go covent garden? - few nice restaurants around there - Slomenski's (SP?) is always a safe bet.. _but it will cost you more than £23

Agree, taking her to an Italian in Liverpool Street next time round. Covent Garden is a bit busy and touristy for my liking. Can't remember the name of it, but last time I was there, it wasn't cheap

Covent garden is far a more civilised place..

You wouldnt believe the trouble we get in brick lane... Either side of Brick lane you have possibly the worse areas in the East End. If you want some friendly advice and you want to use Brick lane then dont venture off it.. Enter it from either Bethnal Green Road or Osborn Street. Dont cut through to Commercial Street by using one of the little side turnings.

Miller where abouts in Bethnal Green did you use to live?

If you want a good proper curry then use the one in Fieldgate Street...(near to the Royal London Hospital) gets very good write ups in the good food guide

You twat Stav

Doesn't help much when you dont really have anywhere to go too, the main draw back in Living with your parents

Can't exactly be giving a girl doggy style against the headboard when your parents sleep behind the wall the headboard is banging against

And I can't exactly afford to fork out £80 on a hotel at the moment either with my holiday comming up in a couple of weeks
