There isn't a program that is intelligent enough to know what you class as shit that you don't need!! LOL.

Best go through and delete what you can manually. Then go into Add/Remove programs and remove anything you dont use (be careful you don't delete anything important), then run a Disk Cleanup.

Then run the Disk Defragmenter.

yep use this chap, it will clear loads of shit you dont need like cookies, temp files etc http://filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/

Top right click on "download lastest version".

Be aware this will clear your cookies which means all your saved usernames and passwords for ANY website or forum will be reset and require you to re-type them all, so be sure you know all your details etc

My PC was runnign really slow and a mate suggested a program called hijack this... The amount of Shit I had on my PC I didn't even know about

You 'may' have to re load the odd Program... I did, but nothing serious it retained all the important stuff.

Worth a try.

If you want to get really advanced, download Ad-Aware, install it, update it then run it. That'll pick some shit up.

as above, ccleaner is very good, you can uncheck the cookies part so it leaves them. Use it on all our laptops at work and often gets rid of a gig a month.

You will probably find a lot of space is used here

C:\Documents and Settings\<your profile name>\Local Settings\Temporary Internet Files>

run a command window and cd to the above

Do a dir /a

You will find olk dir and probably one called content.ie5

CD into that dir and do a dir /s /a

See how much space is used. This is usually temporary internet files, temp docs opened fom email attachments and the like.
