Default hundreds of project cars here on PF- how many get finished

Ive just had a look in the project section of Passioford and there must be more than 5x pages of current cars being worked on- thats more than 200x vehicles on this site alone
many of these are home build bolt on easy stuff and restorations some are garage built one off specials and a few are big budget iconic motors like the Reyland Escort and Rod 200+MPH sapphire.
How maby of these cars actually get finished and used on track, how many get broken for parts before completion and how many you think get featured in mags and actually seen at circuits and events??

I never realised how many cars are modded during the year well done all who get theirs finished

agree 100% unless you have an limitless funds ,there is always something to do ,i think thats why so many people brake them as life moves on and if you spend 3 years on a car you rearly need to drive it ,but targets are set so high by internet bullshit

Money is not the issue, its time, I have so many things more important at the mo.

inrersting thread

projects take alot of time and money i know i have done a few
my budget on my present project was very small when i look back at it when i started ,it went well ott along time ago but i always finish my projcts some just take years
my last mini with vauxhal turbo 2litre took years to build but got finished
my present puma is taking longer than i thought

i can see why projects dont get finish unless very dedicated and willing to spend alot of money and time on them, then expect to lose most your money

expectations of projects seem to be very high also ,on paper you have a nice car ,and very fast when it gets to the road ,your just another car
and underpowered

i am allready considering my next project

if i had to guess how many get finished i woulodnt be surprised if it was well under 50%

Im in the middle of one with the supra....

Got it... Blew it up AUG 2006.....

Jan 07 I spent 4k having a big spec engine built.....

Since engine was built and delivered it has sat in the boot.....

I have spent 1000's on parts for it that are just sat in garage... FMIC, FMIM, Turbo, Wheels, Brakes, Gearbox, Diff, toyo r888's, Alloy rad, Electric water pump, Exhaust, the list goes on...

Lost all enthusiasm..... but I will finish it..... Maybe next year! hahaha

mines not finished, spent ages off the road getting welded up and painted, i got it back and havnt got round to fitting the badges, brakes and a few other bits that could easily be done in a day, moving house didnt help, like sum 1 else said i dont think any car is ever finished, i want new suspension/engine/wheels its just funds that are the problem, as for track days and shows etc, its been to a few shows last year and got laughed at for the rusty rear arch when i stood next to it will be at as many shows as possible this year but it wont see the track for a while,

Why would you do that, surely if you build what you want its for the long haul, it would take another 12 years to produce what I have now & I probably aint got 12years left .
It must mean you didnt actually build what you wanted- Im confused.
