Track Day Accidents ?
As a driver, if you offer passenger lifts to those who ask, where would you stand if you rapped it n the passenger got hurt ?
Could they sue you?
Just curious

Team HOTHOT!
passengers and drivers sign a disclaimer at the "breifing" session which excludes the track and its owners of all liability.
Not sure about the liability of the driver - best ask Mike and Chip about that one

I'm sure at a public event for anything like that you need liability insurance. Discalimers ain't worth a wank in Court - look at all the pre-nup's signed and all the women who take their multi millionaire ex husbands to the cleaners...............always a way round it.

Spiky - do you think that just because you don't have insurance you can't be sued ? How wrong you are..............

Be mad to have no insurance, people can still claim from you if you're at fault in a crash.
Relying on disclaimers isn't a good idea either.
If you've no insurance, and fuck someone up, you could be left paying for the rest of your life for their treatment, loss of earnings, care, etc etc.
Chance you take, can't see anyone thinking it's worth it.

Yeah....did they sue ? A disclaimer is a legal requirement mate, you have to sign it but it protects the organisers more than the driver. It's up to you lot but if you take the general public on track without any cover specifically to look after YOU in the event of an accident you need your head read. Fucked if I'd put myself and my house at risk for it.
TBH someone like Porkie or Martin Hadland may be the best to answer this but I'd be flabbergasted if neither or either never had any cover specific to passengers if taking people round. If it's a mate and you spin that's one thing, but having a serious accident with a member of the public in the car is entirely another. Even having a mate in the car - you'd soon find out how good a mate they are if you stack it, put them in a wheelchair and they want compensation. If there's no insurance to cover it, whose door will he go knocking on ?

IF that true,
i will make a document up and get my "mates"/ "passengers" to sign saying, in the event of an accident, you CANT claim,
even if limbs or loss of earnings
are you saying if i did that, they can still claim?

But at a event like Bedford, would that be classed as public ?
Anyone can go and ask?
But you haveto pay to get in as a passenger, and sign a disclaimer.
Does it still stand?

Go and drive like a prick, put a few people in wheelchairs, and see how you get on....
If you're not insured, you're wide open for being fucked for life.

accidents happen,
i dont have ANY insurance on track, and that "may" change, not for my passenger, but for me, to replace the parts of my car i break

"Accidents happen" - Best legal defence I've heard, you'll be fine mate...
End of the day, where there's blame there's a claim, to sound cheesy.
Being on a track doesn't exclude you from this.
Still, it's your whole life of not having a pot to piss in at risk, not mine

Then you could sue me, and if I didn't have any insurance then I'd be in the same position that I'm trying to prevent you being in. Is it really that difficult to grasp ?

i understand your theory behind it all,
but as far i see it, most of it, applies to "normal" road driving, not track.
i'm not saying your wrong, but i also dont agree
as i said, i'm looking to puchase track insurance for cart damages, (£50 a track day) and it may well include someone claiming off me, but i not going out to get that cover
anyhow.
i'm off out now, in my insured car on public road

tbh I guess if I was turning into a corner and got T boned which ended up in me being disabled I may well consider claiming.
But as I signed a disclaimer I shouldn't be be able to !
Ask every person before they go on track if they will sue must be the only way then, and tape it aswell ?
Do tracks offer insurance against this sort of claim? Cost ?
btw, anyone still interested in a passenger lift please feel free to ask
