Ferry Destination help...
This will hopefully be a quick one but my mind has gone blank on google maps..
Basically i need to get a ferry from somewhere in Ireland (i don't care where really but the Handier to Belfast the better) to England, with Newbury being my final destination (near reading).
The closest passenger ferry port I can find in England is Pembroke and it means sailing from the very bottom of Ireland. So all in all it'll mean driving for at least 7-8 hours which is a bit pants.
So if anyone knows of any Ferry ports closer to Cardiff round to Portsmouth direction it would cut a fair bit of time off the journey.
Hope that makes sense?
any help much appreciated

I'm still on the hunt

It's quicker to drive than travel on the ferry.
You are better off driving to ths shortest ferry crossing if you want a quick total journey.
Look at the distance on Sea:

Larne (Belfast) to Stranraar, just over 3hrs, then drive Stranraar to Reading
Larne to Fleetwood is 10 hrs on the Ferry.
If they went from Belfast to Bristol / Cardiff , which they don't, you'd be on the ferry for over a day.

yeah the more i think about it, the easier it is to just drive to dublin as it doesn't take long with the new road and ferry to holyhead. At least English motorways are better than here so should be quicker than sailing i hope.

I think the routes are Larne-Cairnryan on P&O and Stranraer-Belfast on Stena.
Thats where we send our freight routes anyway, may be different for passenger, but it's worth double checking!
