I'm upto about Ł4000 as a diy 2.1 zt build. Its the extra bits you need aswell as the engine that eats the money. Management/Stg2 box/Big brakes/clutch, list can be endless.

i am often aware of quotes regarding power for all these zetec but how many have actually produced a dyno sheet backing up the claims if so can you post that as I would like to see the power curve.

it will be good to see some dyno sheets as there is so much information stated especially in magazines features regarding the power of cars in general but very few dyno sheets being produced backing up the claims.
Be good to determine the difference between fact and the power people hope for. personally I do not currently believe some of the figures being quoted regarding zetec power figures.
Its like everyone and their mother owns a 400 bhp Cossie until a rolling road shoot out comes and then suddenly everyone has an issue or its down on boost.

the thing is if someone's figure is lower than expected they say:
-aww clutch slip
-couldnt get traction on the rollers
-it was a very hot day
-the dyno machine is reading low
-boost leak
-bad batch of fuel
then if someone gets a good figure, the sceptics will say the dyno machine is reading to high and it gets disregarded anyway
so a no-win situation.

2.1, LET pistons, Rover 220 Inlet Manifold, PVE Exhaust Manifold, Hybrid T34
you could build a basic zetec turbo for under a grand, mines built by a friend so didnt cost anything but with all machining and new seals ect with fancy manifold(Ł500) and some bits of my cvh probs about 1k that includes buying the engine to start with lol I guess decent engine management will cost another Ł500 or so
