HELP!! Flashing oil light on mk3 golf!- wont start

Default HELP!! Flashing oil light on mk3 golf!- wont start

Not a ford but i'm stuck with this shit box on the road at uni

Wont start, but oil light flashes when ignition is on for a few flashes then stops, does it after cranking as well, does anyone know if its a fault code?

Any help much appreciated!!!!

me missus had a golf that done summut similar to this it was two low on oil to start check its topped right up just an idea

Is it a TD? check wiring to alternator, common problem

cheers guys,

no it has plenty of oil, its a petrol 1800 gl, it will flash about 3 /4 times thenremain constant, doesnt start so cant see it being low oil pressure?? didnt do it when it was running?

Might be low oil level - most modern cars have a mowby float of some description for the oil level, if its too low, then the car won't start - this is to stop it lunching itself, or doing a "doggers"

Check the oil level and then check the wiring to the oil level sensor (if it had one fitted)

as said oil level is fine, plenty in it,

would it not start if the oil pressure swith was fubarred?or the wiring

when vw's are cracked over for so many sec's and dont fire the buzzer goes and the oil light flash's

has it got a spark?
