Is it fooked
Did a compression test and cylinder 2 had about half the compression of the other 3. hmm...
is it piston rings? head gasket? knackered valve seat?
off with his head!
first, battery out, bonnet off and rocker removed
coolant drained (eww). and the coolant system flushed through
inlet manifold off and the top row of exhaust manifold bolts undone. decided to leave the bottom row until the head was off
head off, after some "persuasion. lots of lovely carbon
and after the first "round" of crap removal
an evening or 2's work required on cleaning the underside of the head and valves i reckon
the head gasket's seen better days
