ford racing blue its now called, and is proably a different shade. If you go to your local halfords they can find the paint code for you

there various shades of imperial/ford racing/performance blue. Best thing to do is to go to a motorfactors or ford dealer and they can trace your paint code with a reg plate

sorry just seen the pic so i understand what you mean now

only thing to get an exact match is to have the whole car sprayed, although you would only have to be a blow over

Default My Mondeo

I wonder if anyone can help me here?
I had a silly wee bump into a container with my 05 Mondeo 2.2 TDCi ST in Ford Performance Blue.
It cost me a bumper repair and a new wing.
When I went to collect the guy at the bodyshop said that he was sorry - it was a different colour to the rest of the car and he would redo it.
I put it back yesterday morning and asked him to repray the bonnet too. Bad move I fear, as when I went back this evening to collect it he said the paint was defo the right code and he feared it was going to be too dark again! What can I do?????

Cant understand how he cant match the colour. Only thing i can think of is the bodyshop your car is in is using a cheap/shite paint scheme. Performance blue is a fairly good colour to match if you use the right product. When they painted the new wing did the bodyshop blend into the door for colour match?

Don't think they did blend into the door. They did blend into the bumper but it still looked darker. Don't know where they got the paint the first time but he said yesterday that he's got it from ford this time just in case.

I'll pop in today and see if they are trying to blend it in.

Thanks.

a dont see where all these problems come from if ure needing to paint a panel anywhere near the edge u just blend it on to the next panel and u will never get any problems and any sort of body shop should always offer a blend of the next panel or panels to keep them selfs rite and if u only want the whole panel painted edge to edge should tell u they,ll not guarentee the colour first .

by the looks of it the cabriolet has been painted imperial blue but uve just painted it edge to edge u would need to blend it on to the door and wing for them to be spot on

no need for a whole respray whoever said that .

I went to have a look today and I think the blending may be the problem but I said this to the guy and he says that what we are looking at is after the blending. Should they be flicking the paint onto the next panel or would it be okay to flick towards the end of the panel he's painting? Every other panel is taped up apart from what he's painting.

The ford man is coming to look at it with chips to make sure it's the right colour...
