Playstation 2 Silver and blue discs

We have a Playstation 2 silver.... and for some really annoying reason blue discs wont play in it. Its never been tampered with or chipped and I am sure at one point I have used the blue discs in it.... but they won't work now... it aint the discs either cos bought a new game today and that won't play in it either

Anyone know why?

mines the same it just makes stupid noises and wont play ps 1 games either

My sons wont play dvds all of a sudden, just makes silly noises.

its the laser that needs realigning, look for a guide on google, its a case of rotating a toothed cog one notch, testing all 3 colours of discs and retrying. if its mis aligned it may play only 1 or 2 types
