Plasterers! Day Rate?
Right, I've had a plasterer in today to sort out my kitchen.
He's done a great job - skimmed the ceiling, cheeks of the window/door and one 2m wall which I plasterboarded.
He'll be coming back tomorrow to sort out a few little bits and skim another 1.2m wall.
All in all, probably about 1.5 days work.
I tried to ask him how much he wanted but he went all shy and said something along the lines of "Just pay me what you think's right"
I have no idea what the going rate for a decent plasterer is
I don't want to offend him as he's a nice guy and his work is spot on, but obviously I don't want to go OTT with it.
Any suggestions on a day rate?
Cheers!!
Neil.

I pay my plasterers from £150 minimum to a max of £300 a day for the best ie fast and good.
The meterage of your job sounds like about £150's worth but if the slack bastard can't price a job just bung him a ton and he will stop being coy about pricing jobs!
Can't fucking stand that "pay me what you think its worth" work ethic.
You will be doing him a favour by dropping him a ton even though he may not realise it/want to work for you again.

Reminds me of those pyramids i got from Egypt! Guy's sale patter was that they were a gift and it was up to me to decide what to pay him. As I had watched him annoy tourists and be pushy earlier in the day I gave him the obvious amount! He went ape lol. My mum loved them as a gift as well Suppose I could have said they were not from me....

I been doing a job for my dad's mate, who owns a hairdressers and no matter what I get done there i have never paid for a cut or colour. So when he asked me how much I wanted to be honest I didn't know because I didn't wanna feel like i was robbing him, also I didn't wanna undercut myself.

150 - 200 a day, if the job is good, look after him, as you may want his services again and a good plaster who is not pissed is hard to find.
I Paid my bloke 1k for 7 days work and worked him like a mule he said he would never come back :top
