Makes a mockery out of having sessions then, especially when you have novices out there with the very fastest and most aggressive expert drivers.
Total shit mate....

Sessions at croft last year were all mixed due to only 8 novices booking on....

Its sessioned and i try and group the sessions as close to the Novice inter expert but it made no difference to anyone and the compliant is the first I have heard of it.

Personally being in expert makes you more aware and helps you find the lines much faster....

Surprised at your comment.....
Of course it's not total shit.

You know full well how some of the above people on that list drive - virtually pushing cars out the way, cutting them up, overtaking round corners etc..... seen it with my own eyes all too often when I've been helping out novice mates on trackdays, and big boys sneak into the session.

You know that list of people will be driving as fast and as close to each other as possible.

Look what happened at Combe with Simon Norris......and that was in a race where everyone had at least some experience.

I'm sure it will be fine, but poor organisation IMO.

simple rich, inform the charity drivers that when there out in a session with novices on track that they must take it steady as they approach slower cars (not that they wouldn't) and if they don't there off.
job done everyones happy.
I was on track both days last year and diddn't have an issue and yes some of the cars come up fast, AG in particular but we know there out there so it's up to us as well as them to be aware of other traffic.

Steve,

I did a novice track day recently, where I was just along to help out some friends of mine who were complete newcomers.

One instance, a hugely faster car came past under braking into a corner, very tight, causing him to swerve and spin the vehicle.

As I said, I'm sure it'll be fine, but if you're going to put the fastest cars out with the slowest and most novice ones, why have sessions at all?

Fuckoff you cunt - if you get in the car with me, the boost goes down and I'll follow an XR2 round for your laps . And I need five 2wd airbox clips, as the bases you sent had loads missing .

I do understand where your coming from, but they should only be a couple of charity cars out per session, in the morning deffo due to the lack of breakdowns, so it not as if it would be a free for all with the whole session a mix of experiences.
i'm sure it will be fine as so far croft has been so well run with minimum stoppages, the worst was I think the first year when a cossie did a lap with a hole in the sump!!

Richpon....

What everyone finds with croft is its the most relaxed track day show of the calender....

There is nothing wrong with the fast cars in the sessions....

SIMPLY because

LAST year there were 45 experts on track.....with 60 in total and 3 sessions of 20 cars.....please explain to me the logistics of how in your expert experience of organising track days that you would have run this because i am interested because i didnt think you had every organised one.

So the groups were A B and C and it was totaly mixed just like most of the other track days i have been to, very rarely are they seperated on experience.

Explain to me how not one person complianed to me on the day about track time, standard of driving and general compliants.

You can't - so were is the bad organisation....?

You will not be able to answer that......

And let me give you an example....

Paul Bailey used to go out every session at dono and i never saw you moan at that....

Are you booking on ? I very much doubt it......so it doesn't concern you does it.

I wont be able to answer that?

Er, okay, well here goes then.

I've run 3 trackdays myself now, all based around a novice biased format. Due to numbers, we had to put some quicker cars out with the novices on some sessions, as the sheer logistics meant it couldn't be any other way, but the gulf in speed and ability between the pure novices and those with some experience is huge.

So, answer then the simple question. If the format is sessions, and you have on dedicated for novices and are putting the very fastest cars out in it, why are you having sessions? Why not make it open pit lane?

If you do intend on keeping it in sessions (which I presume are novice, inter, and expert), I would personally have the charity drivers out in inter and expert, minimising the risk, or not have sessions at all.

As far as complaints go, generally you never get any at any trackday regardless of how people drive, thanks mostly to bloke pride.

I also thought it was terrible that Paul Baily went out at every session at Donnington, but what difference would it make to complain? Not a thing.

And no I wont be booking on either, but I'm still entitled to an opinion on a trackday that I've done in the past. You of all people like to have an opinion on anything and everything, so I'm surprised you're irritated.

Still, suppose it makes a change for you to be replying to a post where you're not slating christian, or sucking off karl!

Its not open Pit Simply due to cost and numbers.

Assumption - interesting

Sessions Are A, B and C not Novice Inters and Expert.

Not true mate, i have had compliants in the past, but nothing from last year - I always listen to people on this and try and make the right decision based on public feedback.

Not irritated at all mate, i am not out to have a go as i class you as a mate just think its odd on the comments about a track day you haven't been to recently.

You goon!

As I said, I'm sure it'll be fine. It's just having been out with specific novices, they get properly shitted up when really quick cars come past them, especially when they're "racing", which everyone knows they do.

Just seems a little odd IMO, but whatever........

i think the fact there is no expert or novice group at croft, you get fast and slow cars in all groups,

which has it's good point and bad points, but the way it is run (2007) it went very smooth

(god i'm going to get shot down for arse licking now )

I won't be going so a big no on that one!

Anyway Harvey's attention to detail when he drives is far superior to his engne building hence he can properly drive and anyone who goes out with him will love it!

last year was run very well. Although i agree with some of the points about novices being made, it shouldn't be too much of a problem.

I think Andrew lapped me in his Focus I was in my 90bhp shonky Escort and it wasnt really an issue. Knowing there were much faster cars out in my session made me more aware of others and reminded me to keep an eye on that rear view mirror. Cant wait for this years!
