Silver chains, chav or not?
Went round my brothers last night, and he deals in antiques/jewellery etc.
Showed me this chain he was scrapping in, I put it on, went downstairs to show my partner my "bling" and she actually said it looked good on me
Its pure silver and weighs about 250g, I've always though about getting one, but dont know whether or not its "chav". Gold is definitely chav, thats a no brainer, but this being silver isnt too bad.
So who's got one, when do you wear it and what clothes are best to wear it with. Also underneath clothing or over?
Never had one before, so dont know

Nothing more cheesy than a chain on the outside of clothing
If you like it and keep it covered up then away you go, you have to chuckle at folks who get dressed then make a point of putting their bling outside their clothing

It Wasnt Me!
I've got a fairly thick gold one, wear it day in - day out, but when I go out I usually stick on my silver one
I dont make a point of having it 'out' to let people see it, as I live in Glasgow for a start so prolly get my head sawn off for my gold one plus I agree it does look a bit daft ontop of your jumper or whatever but for people sayin they gotta laugh at people having them on show...well why wear it if it's only for you to see? pretty pointless really if no one knows you wear it, kinda like wearing some expensive clothing but hiding the label...u get the idea

Thick Silver Chains are so tacky!
i have one, got given it, i Will not wear it!
i have a thin, quite long silver one tho, which is far nicer than a big thick one

Do you see folks taping up rings and watches so you cant see them?

Thinking about it, if its worn under a top/jumper, you can still see the back anyway
As long as its blatently not on show, then yeh I agree it looks OK

just finding my feet
personally i think silver jewelery makes you look either gay or large silver makes you look like you want people to see what your worth,,, when you aint worth much
i wont comment on looking chav though,,,,,, i cant see how a gold chain worth over 1500 quid and a braclet worth over a grand makes you look like you live on a council estate,,,,,,,, most people on there couldnt afford it so would buy a cheepo silver version
though as ive got a few "discreate" bits of jewelery im prob gonna think like that
