i think i would rather diga deep hole and burry them, our dog died at the vets some years ago let them take him away

but we got some of his things lead etc and burried them in local field with a small tree we planted, and hoped it would grow and last

best we could do at time, but i think i would of liked to bury him somewere

I did, I had to have my whippet put down a couple of years ago and for a fee you can have them cremated and their ashes scattered in a garden of remembrance, or you can keep the ashes. its a nice thing to do I think.

I did for my last dog Sybil.

You can bury big animals in the garden legally anymore.

But more to the point Ii want to scatter her ashes somewhere on her favourite walk

Not as good as having it stuffed and a set of castor wheels added to its feet

Be very careful as to which company is used to cremate your pet. The ashes you receive back will be a mixture of every animal that was cremated in that particular batch. It is not widely known that this goes on but unless the company used specifically states that they cremate your pet individually then I am afraid that the ashes will not be of your pet alone. Speak to your vet as he will know what the company he uses does.

I have never had a dog cremated since I learnt about this. Whenever one of my dogs has died I have buried them in their favourite spot on my land. It is quite legal to do this with a pet of any sort despite romours to the contrary.

depends on the animal, she had a horse cremated, sod digging a hole for that

But our 10! year old rabbit, Bean died a few days ago and i buried him,

he broke his leg before christmas, the vets tried there best to sort it, which they did, and he came home new years eve, but think it was all too much for him and 2 days later, he gaveup

very true unfortunately...

I paid that little extra to have peace of mind that smelly was cremated on her own..... you would never know if it really has happened though would you??

I used to know someone who worked at Cambridge pet crematorium, and he told me some horror stories of what some sick fuckers used to do with the corpses before they went into the oven... nothing sexual... just wrong stuff... BUT he did assure me, that when a customer specified a cremation of the pet alone, then they genuinely would cremate that pet on its own!

i can vouch for this too....i used to deliver to a pet cemetry in surrey and used to watch them stack all the dead animals in the yellow sacks ready to be burnt together.

There is a Pet Crematorium across from my work. Unfortunately I have been in it with one of our dogs last year and I can assure you that at the Larkhall one, every animal is individually cremated if you wish. They can also cremate numerous animals at the same time but all are kept seperate. One of our drivers also used worked there for a while and he can confirm everything as well.

We received the ashes in a lovely box which we are keeping till my sister gets home from travelling round the world, as Bonnie was really her dog.

Family pets have always been buried in my folks garden (they live on a farm, so plenty of room).

When my little jack russel goes i will be taking him up there to.

I wouldnt burn my pets the same i dont wanna be burnt to cinders when i pop my clogs
