tyre wear isnt anything massive that ive noticed, but then if you have any real use for a decent diff then i doubt tyres last you long anyhow.
prob easier to get the ass out on a crappy worn LSD or open diff, but far easier to HOLD it there, with a decent LSD or welder.

uneven surfaces and 3 point turns on tight roads are the only things ive ever noticed with em, but only ever tested a car with one, never had car with one

helps when you mention what diff you comparing them to!
esp as they chalk and cheese, as TBH a ATB is the last thing you want for drifting, which is what i presume he'd want a welder for.

But i also have a quaife ATB sitting in my shed from my old saff which i havent bothered putting on yet so was wondering if anyone on here has tried both and how different did they feel when getting a bit sideways.
Im sure you'll all say quaife but was just wondering !!!!

but they useless for drifting, which is what he wanted to know about, he didnt mention how nice they drive, so i concentrated on diffs that were useful to him.
anyhow, this is nit picking, bedtime for me, was case closed days ago.

he didnt ask about how nice they drive at sub 5mph tight turning either, but you brought it up, and now have started arguing about it.
but yes, your 100% right as ever

Lammy (Mark),
Personally I'd stick the ATB in as it's sitting there not being used & is a good diff ! ! !
will drive nicer & is easier to live with, their'll both do what you want them too !
I've got a welded diff in mine & have been using the car everyday for the last month, not a prob untill you wanna manuver (spelling), especially as I not got P.A.S. either !
But as anything over say 10mph you really don't notice, it does try push on in slow corners, but nothin your right foot won't sort out
Have still managed to blow the diff up a couple times, last time being at the daddy thrash when the cwp let go !
James W, Greg bought my old engine off me which was a pukka SCS 400/400+ lump & I managed a 12.8 1/4 in ! Loved that mota ! ! !
And for the reason I stuck a welded in the Cossie instead of a "propa" diff is 1 the cost of a ATB, mine is on a budget, especially when it let go we were preparing for Christmas, moving etc & the last time the diff died it was the cwp that let go, in an ATB these's are still the ford items so it would of still happened & would of been a grand down !
Jus my opinion
