Cant decide??
If you had the choice...would you have either:
A black Rs 1600i......
or
A Series 1 Rs Turbo.

what are your intentions for the car you buy? If you want a S1 you will end up bored with the 16i very quickly...

Whatever your get just make sure it's mint and solid this time mate!
Knowing and seeing what you had before, for you i'd say go Series 1 as you've always wanted a genuine nice example
16i's are gorgeous cars but I would imagine pretty boring to own

REALLY don't understand the attraction of the RS1600i
At least S1's look cool and have a Turbo so can get some power out of them ....
all RS1600i are is rare! and yes I have driven one. Just REALLY don't get it.

I'd love a turbo'd sunburst 16i but then I've got an S1 so maybe a biased opinion...I think 16is look better sometimes, cleaner...less kit to clutter the look

S1 for me, but then for the money you can have a minty 1600i or an average S1 needing a freshness up.
So if you want something to polish up and enjoy while retaining resale value, the 1600i is for you, if you had your heart set on an S1 then will the 1600i live up to your needs or be a substitute.

the rs1600i is my favourite all time ford so that would be the one for me. S1's are common in comparison

I would have said S1 all the way but after seeing the photo of that 16i I think I've changed my mind!
Good luck whatever you decide
