Default Urgent! Drum Hub thread direction??

Right just a quick one, ive been trying to get the rear passenger side drum of my Escort MK5 but it will not budge!

I got the drivers side nut of as it was a normal type thread (left to loosen, right to tighten)

But is the passenger side a left to tighten and right to loosen due to the direction the car drives or is it still left to loosen??

ive tried it bothways using a snap on 18v impact drill it just wont budge but the drivers side came of easy!

any ideas?

ive had a bar on and it bent and snaped my socket

this snap on drill shud do it as it took the drivers side nut off, but the passenger side just wont nudge

doing my head in now

if i knew which way its ment to go it would be a hell of a lot easier

Wrong

Both sides are different.

The side your trying to get off will be right to loosen

its got a escos rim on it tho

the reason i need it off is because theres a locking nut on the escort rep i bought, and its different to the other 3 that were on it and what i had the key for

i started to drill down the centre of the stud and i worked my way up to 7.5mm and the drill be snapped

the drilling took 2 nites after work as the stud is so soild, only needed to get to about 10/12mm and id be able to pull the nut off

its such a ball ache

now i have to take the drum off andknock the drill bit out from the back so i can get the wheel off

i dont need the drum/beam as im changing to discs

such a ball ache its untrue

pretty certain that the hub nuts on escorts are all right handed threads. i.e turn left to undo. reason being they are usually held either by torque loading or with a split pin. get the biggest breaker bar you can find ensure the socket is correctly positioned on the nut and stand on the fucker. that should loosen it.
