following on from the other post regarding traction (which has now turned to shit )

whats the widest tyre I'm gonna get on a 8x17 rim (et40) on the rear of a 3 door without grinding the arches off? It is slightly lowered though

Its got 215/40/17's at the moment, would 225's go on?

 

225's will go on without grinding IF its standard height

I have 235's and i have just slightly shaved the rear arch, that is standard height too

I may have to load it up with fat bastards and measure if theres any clearance to go a touch wider. it does sit fairly low though

although just looking at a pic of it, the back end doesnt seem too low at all



whats the crack with the budget rear beam mod on these too? something about shims or something wasn't it?

How much is the shim kit, and where exactly do they go, so I can check its not already been done?
