Default Mk6 Escort rear heated screen has stopped working

Any ideas guys?

I've checked the fuse and thats perfect, checked the connections on the screen elements seems fine and checked the elements and seems fine

Does the system use those 3 or 4 boot prong switch thingys?

Cos at the weekend I put something rather heavy on there and then slid it into the boot, could this have bent the panel down very slightly and therefore not making contact anymore?

The rear wiper still works fine if that uses those latches? Not sure

Next step is to check with a multimeter whilst it is on I guess but then I'd need to know if it works on those latches or not

Also the light on the button for it lights up

Yer it does run through those prong things iirc so might be worth checking there making full contact

Measured it with a multi meter and it had no volts with the boot shut it is the middle pin of 3 on the tailgate and I just scratched the contact a bit with a screw driver and hey presto 11.4v

The middle pin was stiff once it went above half way up though, so if you shut the tailgate hardish and it goes above half way and it gets stuck it won't make contact I guess? I'll lube that up at the weekend

Thanks for everyones help

Beat me too it mate I was gonna say, the pin acts as the earthing point, I had a mk6 RS2000 with the same problem, tapped it with a punch and gave it a good drenching with WD and it cleared all the probs.
