does he launch it at every opertunity? does he ride the clutch like his girlfriend? what clutch did your mate fit? if its a twin plate did he bed it in properly before launching it, as from what ive read they need a few hundred miles of gentle use... not sure if manufacturer states this or not though. i did just to be on the safe side.

as petes just said i fitted an Exedy Twin Plate with heavy duty pressure plate, it was just shy of Ł1100 and i fitted it myself.

went fot this clutch as its what the majority of modified evo people on the MLR use, they had the same problem as me with the uprated organic clutches not lasting very long at all

It is, which is what I say EVERY time someone asks about an Evo clutch.

Gary put an Ł800 Hyper Single in his and even that only lasted 2000 miles.

I think I would be inclined to try an OS Giken STR Twin Plate. We haven't fitted one of those to an Evo yet, but they are amazing in Skylines. Not quite as beefy as a normal Twin-Plate, but they feel practically like a standard clutch to drive with. Would be fine for circa 400-450bhp I should think.

i heard a few mlr members buying cheap exedys off ebay and they only lasted 250miles. though others were fine. poss a faulty batch, some even thought they were poss fake?

I think im going to fit a standard organic in mine when it goes as i only want 350ish bhp and dont launch hard.

Crowds.

These are probably just standard clutches, sold as uprated.

Tell him to just get an evo8 flywheel and clutch like tony says, and then pay you to fit it properly for him.

PMSL.

We class it as an all-day job and we have 2 guys and a 2-post ramp and have done loads of them.

Can you use your ramps at work, or is it going to be a "driveway" job?
