Default ABS and Traction Control Problem.

Hi guys, just wondering if anyone had suffered with the same problem as i've just acquired, i've got a W plate Fiesta Zetec S and its jsut developed a problem with the ABS and traction control lights staying on the dash, the ABS is off and not working as its just locking straight up when you stamp the pedal and not working the way it normally does. As for the Traction its in my opinion no different apart from the dash light is on constant, its never stopped the car spinning the wheels right up the revs when accelarating hard on damp and slippy surfaces, but just seems very funny the lights have came on the same time. Any help would be much appreciated guys, Cheers Mark.

I'd clean and check abs sensors, failing that diagnostics I guess.

Both use abs sensors.
Both need to read the speed/lack of, of wheel, and act on that information if you think about it.

they're both controlled by the same module (the thing on the abs pump) worth checking the fuses first

Had the same problem on the girlfriends Fiesta, I cleaned all the sensors and checked all the fuses but lights still stayed on. Took it to the local garage who diagnosed it as both the front ABS sensors, £110 each from Ford

Got a set of front hubs with ABS sensors in the end from the scrap yard £55 delivered to my door and problem solved.
