Anyone been?

Thinking of taking a week over there next year sometime, so any tips would be good!

 

my mates folks have a house over there,hes going for a month on the 29th,dirt cheap!(when you get there anyway),12hr flight and remember a travel visa is required

 

oh and better getting some jags at the doctors.

 

They're all sorted pal!

My best mate's Goan, we went when we were 18 but that was 12 years ago and I was fucking ruined for the whole time so I can't remember shit for tips.

What do you want to know and I'll ask him? He's still got family over there. They're very welcoming, ask for any "Barretto" and tell them you were sent

I preferred it to the rest of India to visit, but I'm a strict Catholic so it was like being at home

where to go, where NOT to go that sort of thing really. Peoples experiences of going there self catering / all inclusive etc (cant stand all inclusive mind!).

 

My famely is from Goa, a cold, windy farmersplace, great for growing potatos...







.... but that is Goa in norway, I think the one in India might be more of a touristattraction during winter

Was thinking of going to Goa India this January, but we ended up with Kap Verde of the coust of Senegal

 

My bro and sis in law go there all the time as she is indian.
DON'T under any circumstances drink the water, use bottled water, my sis in law can drink it no probs, but my bro had one small glass, then treatment for months until he was 100% right.
She obviously had built up as other indians immunity to the bugs, her family out there are CASHEW nut farmers.
I just tried to phone sis but not in, will try again later and post.

Thanks for the post lads, my missus really wants to go to some elephant sanctuary over there and wash the fuckers (Why go all that way when she can do it to me at home! )....

So thought I'd bite the bullet this year and actually get it booked!

 

The olds are over there now, Korilla (sp).
They used to go to Baga but said its become too touristy and commercialised.

 

More places to avoid, resorts to stay away from, things to do etc!

 

Calangute and Baga are gorgeous!

 

Dont worry mate, she want to go to Lapland next year. I mean why would you want to go to see Santa when he's at the local Grotto
