What are the pros and cons
Right my s2 dropped a valve on a zvh conversion, it totalled the head and put a nice hole in the piston the rest of the engine is ok and the bore is only slightly scored. Could i just bore that one cylinder and get an oversized piston so that i can use it again?

That will be fine and not upset anything, but it may hone out with a deep hone so, may be able to fit a std size one depending on how deep etc the marks are.

Jesus you are talking a few mm, sorry less than that.
A normal engine will have power variations from cyclinder to cylinder, weight of the compionets is not an issue.
For those that don't know this has been standard practice for years, I have never not once even heard of any problems let aone experienced any when doing it myself.
Try not to listen to the sales patter!!
