what are you still here thinking about it then? just go for it before you get to old and regret not taking the chance. if it doesnt work out its no big deal to come back here and get a new job.we were lucky as the company that we quit when we left took us back on again as soon we got back 2 years later.

I've been thinking the same you know Rad. If I end up finishing where I am now in the spring, options around Cardiff are limited, and to be honest, rather than work/relocate somewhere else in the UK, I'd rather just go do some contracts in Europe/Middle East, where hotac and flights are paid, allowing me to stay where I am in the UK.

Takes balls to make that step though I reckon, too many unkowns, I think it's gotta be done though, if it doesn't work out afterall, you can always just come back..

rent your house out ginge whilst your away.find a decent letting agent that will take care of it while your away.you dont have to make a profit on the rent as long as you cover the mortgage although a profit would be nice and have an agreement of say a 1 year lease that you can either kick them out if you dont like it and return home or renew the lease if you do like it and stay. there is no problems that cant be gotten around if you really want to go but its a big step making the initial jump. my new boss in holland at the time told me that i would hate it for the first couple of months and would want to return back to the uk but said that if i stuck it out o would end up loving it. he was exactly right as every week for the first 3 months we thought about quitting but stuck it out and ended up staying 2 years and loving it. stop being indecisive women and go for it.
if you dont try it you will always regret it later on.

You get one life, live it (not that you don't seem to already!).

I came over here to work at 21 and it was the best thing I have done. Experiences like this are character building, look great on a CV and are a superb way of experiencing other cultures.

Friends will be here when you get back, family can visit and anywhere in the world is only 24 hours by air, its a small place.

Get out there and do it, there is so much to see rather than being stuck in the UK.

Good luck

Do it or you will never know pal.

I have wanted to do it for a long time, did a year in tenerife when i was 20 with no money. Came home to make something of myself and make sure i returned later on.

I am now just 28 got the money own business etc and move to the costa del sol on feb the 16th, may have seen my post the othert day. I wont regret leaving at all.

Can not wait, no nerves just excirement. Went over last week for a week and already where i live the people have made me feel so welcome, made an effort to get to know me etc. These days you wouldnt get that here.

Just do it pal or you will never know.

I also find the germans very welcoming.

Imagine a load of germans out on a night out here in the uk they would get some right hammer. Complete oposite to us when we go out round cologne. Have random germans buying you drinks when they here your brotish etc.

A world apart imo.

I too find Germany an awesome place to live. If you make a little effort it goes along way. If you are ignorant and rude then what do you expect

I'll do the mature thing and not rise to your bait.

Radders, I hope you do decide to work abroad for a bit. You'll love it and you know you will. There's nothing stopping you. Nothing phases you so why is this. Get it organised and look to the future
