Default Another GT 30 question

Anyone have any problems fitting the turbo / inter-cooler pipe. ???

Got the pipe on order just looks very close to the PJ ext wastegate

Can you not rotate the housing so it goes over the wastegate? that looks proper close

i thought most ppl had the external gate on the other side?
as your mixing hot and cold together like that, not
to mention the pipe restriction you now have!
the compressor cover fyi does indeed turn to any angle

Yes that is a PJ cast down pipe
Will just have to see if the pipe fits ok i guess' If not then yes i will have to spin the comp housing round

that looks well close! what have PJ said about it? i would Contact Martin @ reyland mate and see what he thinks as it looks like the Exhaust manifold is going to melt your boost pipe

Not spoke to PJ as i didnt get it from them direct.

Will just have to see how it fits together / Bit of heat wrap ? Maby drop the alt a bit ferther down ?

As above,will the PJ part go on the other way around,so wastegate is at back?????

Have you got an alternator drop bracket on there atall yet?

thats exactly how it was on a mates 3door

oh and Doug, you need a hose clip on your water pipe where it comes off the thermo housing

will need to be proper shielded or it will super heat the charge coming out of the turbo..

IMO heat wrap isnt actually very good.

Needs to be reflective and metal

have you just dropped the wastegate pipe out the bottom or connected it into the exhaust further back

Why dont you just rotate the compressor housing anti clockwise a little so its pointing more or less straight down?

Why didn't you use the Reyland jobbie. Surely its far better positioned even to my untrained eyes!

Got my hoses through






But i think i will need to make a new bracket to bring the alternator in a few inch's

has anyone else had this done before ?

exhaust wrap is good, but you cant wrap the wastegate so your always fucked there with that setup

That's a option. Just want to put it all together and working right first.
Probably going to take the engine back out next year for some paint on the shell anyhow

Put a new set tyres on it then pushed it back in the garage, once the warm weather turns and the lighter nights i will get out there and stick the engine in

i'd say if your intent on keeping the ext gate there,
you'll ultimately have to have a hard pipe boost
pipe off that turbo outlet and even then you will
still need heat insulation pad/wrapping etc
in between.
