There is a big street party every year, there was thinking of going, anyone else been ? whats the score??

I quite often go to Looe bay for New Year with friends. I was a bit wary the first time as I was told it was Fancy Dress only, and you wouldn't be served in bars and pubs if you weren't dressed up.

But we did it anyway, and it was awesome!

The last one I went to there were ten thousand people on the streets, and then all moved down to the beach for fireworks at midnight.

I've not been to St Ives, but I can only imagine the buzz is the same. If not, get yourself down to Looe instead


Trust me, being in the middle of ten thousand plus people cheering and dancing at midnight is absolutely incredible!

I have a friend that lives down there, so just crawled back up the hill and slept curled up round the table legs in the kitchen...
If you need to use a B&B, I would book it now, as they book up pretty quickly.

I meant we did dress up anyway, I opted for full on army camo gear. Nice and warm
The best effort I saw on the fancy dress was a group of blokes who went as Smurfs. They were just wearing nappies, and had painted themselves blue!



It is on every year, and gets bigger and better every year.
I haven't decided if I'm going yet, going to wait until the last minute to decide as usual
