Technically speaking, she's not actually gambling as she has put no money in to start with.

Bit of a stupid question Jimmy.

She's British, and likely a moderate follower, and NOT an extremist.

Plenty of religions "forbid" things, yet followers of those religions choose not to abide by them. What's different here?

That was a point stated by a muslim here at work, however she is compeating in a game show that could have a finiacial gain, to me that's sort of gambling and the very nature of the game she is partaking in is a gamble

I'd only call it gambling if she paid to enter or stands to lose something, dont know how this game works but its not really gambling is it? I'd say its more a game of chance
if shes says no deal to an offer she is then gamblin in my eyes

thats what i would have said! but im guessing she didnt... so probably did gamble...

on another note, christianity forbids sex with contraception, how many people who call them selves christians have used a condom... islam is a very young religeon, catholocism went through a violent stage, as shown by monty pithon VERY clearly!

ERR think it is gambling
Any time the banker rings up and offers her money, so at any given point she has THAT money and she GAMBLES cos she thinks she can do better

That what I hate about alot of Muslims, 1 they can be so fanatical about there precious God, but other rules of their faith they choose to ignore and become all westernised

I mean how many of the people out on the streets at the teddy bear incident do you think have never had a drink or some other form of anti their religeon

they are VERY smart people who i work with and not suicide bombers ect or have a chip on there shoulder about britain

i also work with 2 seihks who drink/smoke and have more than one bird on the go,,, yet they wear a turban as that was what they was brought up to do

I work in the gaming industry, lots of Muslims gamble, I don't agree with most of their ideals and I'm a bit disturbed that some of them are being forced on us but in the grand scheme of things is gambling the worst thing they could do? They could be trying to stop nativity plays in schools......Oh wait.......

No, she isn't.

By definition, a gamble is:

"wagering money or something of material value on an event with an uncertain outcome with the primary intent of winning additional money and/or material goods"

Since there has been no initial stake, it's the equivalent of entering yourself into a free prize draw, since there is a minimum guaranteed win.

The fact that you are given a choice of routes to take to reach your eventual destination is not a gamble, but more a selection of uninformed choices.............. although of course it looks like gamble because you are offered a settlement amount, and can go on to risk that for more or less money, that becoming your intial stake at each point.

But viewed from start to finish, the game is not strictly a gamble.

Really? I've never experienced ANYONE trying to force any kind of islamic ideals on me, nor (to my knowledge) has anyone I know. In fact the only kind of religious ideals that people have tried to pressure me into following are Christian ones, which pisses me off as I don't agree with them either!

And I'm pretty sure most of the PC lot who want to ban nativy plays and the like are British, non-muslim do gooders. I could be wrong though.

Probably yes, but it has to be fueled by the few muslims (no doubt very few im sure), that seem to disagree with the nativity plays to start with. If it wasn't for these few people, the do gooders wouldnt jump on the bandwagon trying to cause crap for the majority.

At the end of the day i see it like this, rules like this should only come into force if it pleases the majority. Why should millions of people suffer because probably only a few hundred/thousand (at the most!) disagree.

I know quite a few muslims and have nothing against them at all, its only the few that constantly want to cause crap that annoy me, and im sure this goes for 99.9% of people.

You could be, I don't agree with any organized religion, unless someone shows me proof I will carry on not believing. Have you not noticed the insidious way that all "home" religions are being pushed out of the way though? It generally is the non Muslims that say we should stop doing anything that may offend, but that is because they are so afraid of upsetting those who will eventually have the majority vote, If our schools want to celebrate Christmas why shouldn't they? How long before the whole idea of Christmas is banned and we are not allowed to celebrate? What about Easter, how long before thats gone too?

I think we do pretty much all we can to accommodate people of different faiths, I know most places I've worked they let them pray and go wash their feet at regular intervals, nobody complained and nobody made a big deal about it, so why cant they do the same? and accept that some of the things we do might seem strange to them, after all it is our country
Well said that man, if you don't like it, don't attend, its that simple.
