Default FAO N95 users, 2.0.015 firmware news.......

New firmware is out apparently with improvements to battery and overall speed as well as a new version of maps. (although you probably have Route66, Tomtom or navicore anyway).

Just doing mine now so get yours hooked to your software and update.

Not not as far as i'm aware as people are still waiting for Tomtom mobile 7 which apparently will feature it IF it comes out. Route66 etc work fine though with internal.

*Warning to people who've not done the n96 firmware update yet, its about 115mb and takes a good while to install.

I "guess" there is lol, thats why im searching now to buy the mobile version

Quite liked it as a stand alone sat nav which like I say my ex has, bit of a pain inputing the cameras tho, but hey once they there it done, oh and it has a good zoom feature as you aproach roundabouts etc, think the Tomtom does it but never quite sure if it is or not lol, but like i say with the route 66 you can see it do it

The Rapid 1

I've found someone to "buy" it so getting it now, should land in about 15 mins or thereabouts and then I need to install it

Where can you get the speedcamera maps from?

Phones on o2 or similar sometimes don't come with the default Nokia software and are branded with o2s own version as a result they have to authorise any updates and so will be mega far behind if they do it at all. Best to remove it and put it back to Nokia so you can update to the latest one, see link below or try Gar maes link.

I followed this one and had no issues:

Now managed to update the firmware via the debranding thing! All worked first time but then realised that i had no contacts!! Ive tried to restore but it just stops at 83% (Ive left it for about 30 mins with no change!). All other information appears to have restored i.e pics/vids/music, just no contacts!!

Is there any way i can retrieve these or is it a case of starting a fresh?

I did a back up before starting and also saved my contacts using the Nokia PC Suite. I sure the back up doesn't store your contacts, someone more clued up might be able to shed some light on this??

I could have made a rather critical error by the sounds of things then! Although reading the help section of the content copier it does list contacts! Ummm....

it should store the contacts assuming you ticked the contacts box before you started.
