Default LPG conversions on Fast cars........

I have an Audi A4 that is LPG....runs a treat and cheap as chips as you may guess....

Now i was looking at the LPG cars on E-Bay and there is a Seat Leon Cupra R with an LPG conversion

Will it still be a fast car even running Gas.......... As my A4, even though it is only a 1.8......Feels no different on Gas than on petrol....Slow as fuck on both

So basically, is it ok to run Fast cars on LPG...ie, Focus ST, EVO, Scooby, M3 ect ect ect

And if so.....why the fuck dont more people do it

May feel a slight decrease in power, but nothing dramatic.
Have seen it said some gain power.
I've an M3, and having high cylinder pressures it's ideal for LPG.
Downside is people bleating on about why you'd buy a fast car and do this....
There is a lot of ignorance to LPG imo, and it has moved on a lot lately, I think many still believe it'll kill your engine.

Local LPG installation place to me runs LPG on a Stage 3 Cossied Transit van

Bloke reckons NO difference to performance / drive switching between petrol and LPG.

Good conversion I'd say, as long as the car has space for the tank....

No problem whatsoever, I've converted a 500 hp F150, 480hp RS4 amongst loads of other turbo vehicles.

Infact I'm doing a 600hp supercharged Hummer in 2 weeks

The issue as mentioned is space for a tank. Not much point imo fitting a 50 litre tank on a 480hp RS4 !

Tiff- What kit have you got on yours ?

one downside i know of lpg in a car is when involved in a fire,
they don't just go bang, they rip out the car and fly

very well said... very!!! i have fitted a lpg kit on a T5 a few years ago... it ran a treat, we lost 6.bhp and 2 lbs of torque. there are some excelent systems on the market now with extremely good mappable ecu's with systems designed for performance turbo-charged engines... i am putting direct LPG injection on my 4x4 S2, its a 2L zetec turbo with a T28, i am doing away with the petrol system totaly and doing LPG only as there is now a system that does not need to warm the gas with the engine water to make it work properly, it can be fully mapped for enuf gas up to 30 odd psi of boost. so when you see my car in FF next year people may just change their minds on LPG... most people are very ignorrant about it. i have an explorer on LPG and a mondeo... both of which together cost me less than 40 qid a week to run ALL week, next job is my M3 and then PBMW are doing a feature on it mostly becuse of the LPG conversion. we will see..... oh and also if you run LPG only you will never have and shit carbon deposits in your engine or your oil... so it stays golden hahah hi Tiff

you will have an emulator to turn off your petrol injectors and tell your ecu that there is nothing wrong, if you have injectors they will be drilled and tapped into your manifold as close to the head as possible x 4 , or if you have the older type you will have a big gas tube going to the inlet pipe near the throtle housing, where ther will be a venturi type effort inside the pipe or sat on the front of the throtle body.

Ideally for performance purposes you want a LPG system that allows ignition control, the kits we use do have this function.

In all honesty though we have never had to use it and all of the bigger powered vehicles have been spot on.
