I may be wrong but I think you need to loose the master cylinder and servo set up to make room for the 6 speed box.

Pedal box time.

Ok, here goes.....

Its a mission mate... lol..

This guide is very basic but covers the items you need…briefly

St170 box
St170 drive shafts
Zetec hubs
St170 starter motor.
St170 gearbox mounts x2
St170 gear cables/gearlever assembly.

Hydraulic pedal box

On a fiesta you have to loose the servo and master cylinder set up
Not sure on an escort!

ive got an rs2000/mk1 mondeo version of the mtx75 in my mk2 fiesta. it was straight forward enough to fit, i had to move the engine and box forward by about 30mm for the CVs to clear the chassis legs though, dunno if you escort boys will have that issue though, sounds not.

ive got a 2.0 mondeo flywheel, focus RS clutch (good for 300+bhp so ive been told, and cost me under a oner!) with mk5 rs2000 clutch cable ()fits straight into the std fiesta clutch quadrant in the pedal box, just had to rotate the clutch release arm one spline on the shaft) driveshafts are yet to be made but just gonna be 1/2 a fiesta shaft, 1/2 a mondeo shaft sleeved and welded.

plan to fit a focus RS box at some point, but use the bellhousing from my current box (assuming itll fit) to retain the cable clutch, then just fit the cable linkage, currently on a modded mk1 mondeo linkage.

Maybe you should get a quote for what the £1600 covers.

S1 rebuilt rollbar setup
Rose jointed Solid tie bars
Solid tie bar clamps
A rebuilt RS2k MTX75 box with upgrades if wanted.
1x Engine mount lowering the engine
2x Gearbox mounts with or without Vibretechnic mounts
2x Custom shafts
2x Inner CV Joints
2x Outer CV Joints
Gear linkage Quick shift style
AP custom made Clutch
Mods to the chassis i.e Welding painting etc.

Fitting!

+ It works a treat. Next time ill use a mk5 escort tho as it saves loads of time due to a direct fit..

Have fun lads.

Well i have never hit the limit of the clutch or box yet and im running 320bhp with 360lbft Not once let me down.

Also i launch in 2nd gear and dont change till 65mph into 3rd

I cant wait till santapod to abuse the times set by others using lame boxes with 3 or 4 gear changes to cross the line

Your have to mate on the st170...

the inner wing needs the focus mount fabricated then welded to inner wing. Then the rear of the box has another mount that will need fixing to the floorplan

Why no talk of ratio's?

The ST170 box is a very tall box IMO, however its a Getrag box so should be able to take a lot of abuse, especially in a light fwd car.
