I am considering buying a Peugeot 307 2.0 110 rapid from a friend for an economical run around but the diesel additive warning light is appearing and I'm not sure what this means and how much it will cost to fix or whatever..

Any help / advice would be appreciated.. Thanks.

additive light??? im lost mate normal you only have ecu light or a water in diesel filter light???

It'll cost about £300 notes at a dealer. New piggots come with the Adblue emissions systems and they need a reset procedure carrying out after the Adblue tank has been topped up. Some independant garages can do it.

It's basiclly an additive that burns with the fuel to reduce NOx emissions IIRC.

ALl it is is some reset procedure that runs the cat at a high temp to burn out the carbon and some other details I can't remember.
