Painting

Personally, I have just purchased 4 tins of black engine coach enamel from Frost Automotive, which I will then be thinning down using synthetic thinners so that I can paint the block of the engine I am building using a spray gun. Hammerite will work okay, but something that has been sprayed on will 9 times out of 10 look a lot better and have a better finish.
I painted a spare bonnet stay the other day using this stuff and after about an hour or so and about 3-4 thin coats it had literally set as enamel, you could not chip it with a knife . Had a real nice shine to it as well, so I know it would be ideal for you.
Choice is yours at the end of the day, just my thoughts based on what I will be doing under the same circumstances.

Sounds good. I havent got any experience using a gun though, but it doesnt need to be 100% finnish.
Maybe i could just use a cheap gun off ebay for this sort of job and have a practice.
Do you know how much your paint cost per tin? Also, how much is in a tin?
Thanks

the matt finish looks as it should from factory but you really can use whatever you want . . . ie bnq's own non drip gloss lol Ł4.99 and used quarter of the tin! no flakeing or anything on any of my engines!
