Default L8 and P8 - Straight swap?

Hi Guys - quick question, are these a striaght swap for one another? (simply in terms of wiring) or do they need additional wiring mods? - Just tring to work out the worse case senario if my P8 deosn't want to play ball as L8 is more reliable???

Cheers

think you need to switch two wires on the throttle position switch around.

IF changing on a 4x4 running system then NO additional wire changes are needed just the correct chip!

So its essentially "plug and play" - apart from the obvious need of a chip thats suited...
Great - cheers for the help guys!

Right then, so is it true that L8 is more reliable?
What is the difference between the 2?

I will also purchase your P8's £161
The p8 is far superior to the l8 and far more advanced it was modified by pectel and ran the works escort cossies with als wasted spark etc etc etc until the advent of the pectel t6 and t10.buy a pectel wiring loom the escort cossie standard loom is terrible as is the fuse box.
Make sure your p8 is running the updated firmware or chip to you lot
all maps must be based on the updated 18106, ours have been since 1993 and we see no issues of reliability apart from the looms the fuse box and the usual sensor failures due to old age.If you are having running issues with your p8 IMO it is just cleverer than the guy you are using to fix your car or map it . The L8 is a retard in comparison to the P8

Just as a rule of thumb Paul, people seem to say that P8's are more prone to breaking down and that L8's are more reliable.

AJC has had about 3 P8's fuck up on him THIS YEAR IIRC!!
