Just stay away from chav / fashionable names.
Tommy was just a name we liked, not really sure where it came from.
Also think about what the initials say/spell and what it will get shortened to.

No stupid names like Lexi, Del Monte, Mercedes, Porsche, DJ, Junior etc etc. (Child abuse in my opinion).
Stick to traditonal names. Your kids won't thank you in later life otherwise.

after lots of arguments and vetos we decided together on our girls names, megan and chloe, got to fit together (if u have more than one) and initials are important. dont forget about people shortening names also as this can be embarassing! im victoria but married a ridge so vic ridge now sounds like a place where the vicar lives!

Even before I had been for a scan I knew my baby was a girl... I just thought of Enya-Mae.... no baby books, no nothing... my boyfriend was adamant that it was a boy....said he only produced boys... piffle.
At the scan, baby had its legs crossed but we were told if she had to put money on it, she'd say it was a girl.... hello Enya-Mae....
It was nice afterwards to find out that Mae was another form of Mary, which was my mum's name (she passed on before I got pregnant) - and I think the stubborness of Granny comes out in this little terror too!

went to the temple
paid to have the ceremony
opened up the holy book
the first verse starting letter is what the first letter for the child is
we then had a long list of names to choose from
didn't want an old school name or a name that would see him getting the piss taken out of him at school

Our little girl is called Esmay(pronounced Esmie) Holliday. Esmay was the name of a lovelly old woman that my wife cared for for many months in hospital and stayed with her while she died. We both loved this old name. Holliday is a name that has been used as a middle or second name in my wifes family for generations.

Dont forget if you ask someone else to chose a middle name like my parents did with my older sister, make sure whoever you ask will agree on one name. My mother's parent's couldnt so hellooooo Zena Hillary Jane Thank fuck they decided against doing that with me so I just have 1 weird name (Ayesha - after a favourite aunty)

My son's called Joshua James.
Don't know how i picked it, seems ages ago now! He was going to be Jack Daniel (no i dont like the drink) but with my surname being the name of a drink too it wasnt a good idea pmsl!
If he was a girl, it was going to be Jessica.
Both traditional names, and not a hint of chaviness in them

samuel seems a bit old school, but it's a fair old classic
lou is a strange one, possibly not right for kids of this day and age, you've got to think about the toilet jokes he'll be opened up to when he goes to school

Our son was born 4 months prem so we hadn't even got round to names when he was born, so he didn't have a name for a week!!
driving to the hospital one day we were just shouting names out and I shouted daniel and the wife said "yes" and I liked it so that how we did it, his middle name richard has been in the wifes family for years so I "had " to comply with that one
tried to have the second middle name "cosworth" but the wife gave me the same look I get when I fart in bed lol
