If you had played the whole game like you played the second half you would have had a chance. It is a shame when no UK teams are in the competition.

Can't believe it. Hope the other people from the home nations that seem so happy are glad we are all feeling the anguish they have felt. Irony is I always root for them to do well yet they HATE us.

We were crap tho. We didn't deserve anything. Bridge just showed himself up real bad. Carson should be renamed Karzie. As a Leeds fan it's hard for me to criticise Carson or Robbo as they were always sound for us, but tonight Carson showed he is simply not ready. He shouldn't sign for Villa, he should sign for a team that is going to give him that big game experience.

Robbo should have played for me. He's made mistakes but he is a quality keeper no matter what anyone says. We've all had shitty periods in our work lives, footballers are no different.

Although Ericson made a few mistakes he was far better than Mclaren

We have some awesome players, they just can't play for shit as a team though

Only small consolation was that all the Beckham haters can do one!! Him and Crouch only decent England players.

Lampsshade only good thing he did was penalty (yes, an important thing )

Gerrard was terrible, how he can look at himself in the morning is way beyond me (perhaps the 100 grand a week helps)

Bridge-what a shocker

Lescott looked very average

Campbell looked painfully slow

Richards was a boy in a mans game

Cole ok'ish

As a Villa supporter I agree Carson was well iffy, not sure I want to spend Ł10 million on him, can we have Rob Green instead.

the England teams or squads HAVE ALWAYS been made up of too many big time CHARLIE's with big egos or reputations and the bottom line some if not MOST of them players AREN'T good enough period!

Well i'm glad that's over as far as Mclaren is concerned......we'd have only gone out at the group stage anyway even if we had made it.

one thing that drives me wild in this country though, is why do we release (leak) the team info so early on?? we knew on Monday morning we'd be playing 4-5-1, so the Croatians had at least 3 training sessions to prepare.

properly pissed off....totally gutted and embarassed!

bad bad management, you should never take risks on young players in big games IMO.

and defensively we were awful, Bridge had possibly the worst game i've ever seen from an England player.

Gerrard was non-existant, lampard not good enough, Campbell too slow...i could go on.

Crouch was the best player in an England shirt by a mile.

Croatia fully deserved the win, superior in every department

Even tho I am gutted, I feel for Steve McClaren, I really do.

Look at tonight. He tried to go out there and show he was his own man, picked his own team etc. They let him down big time. At the end of the day I don't think he is good enough and never was. But would any of us turn down the England job because we weren't qualified??? Would we fuck.

I say thanks to McClaren for going out there and giving it his best shot. The real problem lies with the FA. Half the issue is the way big clubs can take players from smaller ones. Look at my beloved Leeds Utd. Chelsea took some kids last season. Obviously they were good and had bags of potential else Chelsea wouldn't have touched them. But instead of staying with us and developing anf playing first team footy, they will now never get out of the Chelsea reserves as they will always sign a new star for their position rather than play them when they are short.

That means those kids are wasted talent. They will never reachtheir potential and I personally think that in ten years we will be suffering like hell as a result of this.

Agreed. The worry now is that they have ruined Scott Carson.

I'm sorry but Mclaren has always been a poor manager...what has he ever acheived??

his team selection is poor, when it really matters he is clueless!

when you need a result you don't play a lone striker, those tactics are for trying to play for a draw

It's not unique to the FA though. The Old Firm up here do the same. Weakening the rest of the league by buying all of the best talent in it and then not playing them.

No doubt every major league in the world has the same problem!

Really it's the fault of the players who go to the big clubs KNOWING that they will rarely get a game.

No doubt the wages/fame help though!

Definitely. But look at Italy and Spain. OK, Spain don't so so great internationally but their league is decent. I'd say in both those countries 70% of the players are home nationals. Just the sprinkling of foreign talen to compliment their own. Now like here where there are whole teams of foreigners.....
