I wonder if one silencer will be enough? It points down and is underneath the car, as opposed to being out the back or side.

No, as the static is measured at 1.5m away with a hand-held meter, where as the drive-by is where you drive by the meters (positioned at various points around the runway) at full pelt and cross your fingers it doesn't trip them. Obviously the closer you are to the meters, the noisierit will be.

there are quite a few mate, one behind the trees where everyone parks, a couple dotted around the track ond one at the far end of the run way.

if your car is very loud, then they WILL hear it.

not much you can do about it other than make the car quieter.

I think mine was 99db, they were instantly on the case.

am i right in thinking with an internal wastegate and unmodified mongoose or scorpion full system on a cossie would be ok ? or without middlebox still be ok ?

Mine passed on its last run there in Febuary 2005 think the drive by limits were still the same as now.

Theyve relaxed the noise regs abit since wining there case against the village at the end of the run way all the noise is monitered from the gate house where you go in so if you are running too loud depending on who's on the gate some are more forgiveing than others.
