"Cooking oil", cheap from where?
#2
there used to be loads of used cooking oil outside the hotel i work at then i noticed it had gone "missing" and there was a sign saying if you wish to take used cooking oil then a transfer of disposal liability form must be complered with the chef im sure nobody at work is using it to fuel their cars either... i bet you could get cooking oil at wholesale for less than 68p a litre if you buy in large enough quanitity's ours comes in 20L drums but as i dont have a diesel car ive never bothered to find out what it costs

Ive been experimenting this thing with an old cavalier td Im using for work, mix it 50 / 50 and you cant even tell the difference apart from a very slight change in scent from the rear,
I then thought fuck it ill go all the way,
Last week there was about a gallon of diesel left in there and i filled it with 50 litres of fresh rape seed oil. I read somewhere that rapeseed and sunflower oil are better as they are thinner,
Well im happy to report that even coming out of work at 4 in the morning it never failed to start once and although the tickover was a little low for 30 seconds it worked just fine, I think it did notice only a very slight perforance drop but this was in temperatures of minus 2, Ive now covered 600 miles so far and were still going strong.
Will think about changing the fuel filter soon though as People reckon veg oil cleans the system of all the crap and can block the filter, Or maybe this is when using Biodiesel
I think I going to carry on using the oil as Because of the fuel situation at the moment I saving about £30 a week and that makes a difference.
P.s my local Lidl have been selling Rape oil at 49p per litre at the moment
get some funny looks when ive got a trolley full of oil lol, Said i was in catering and the supplier failed to deliver that week lol

Tax and legal issues
It is not illegal to use vegetable oil as fuel in the UK.
Stop press! The rules changed on 01 July 2007. They used to be cumbersome and require that small producers (home users are just very small producers) register and submit monthly returns. Now, if you use less than 2500 litres of oil a year, you don't have to register or pay duty!

I doubt even the government would dare try to stop people saving the planet and switching from fosil fules to bio chip fat type fuels time will tell. They are more likely to increase the duty on other items we buy to generate revenue if the use of chip fat becomes an epidemic.
Most people wouldn't be bothered with the hassle of having to fill up out of bottle.

if trying c/h oil you need to add oil to protect the engine as there is no lubricating protecting in it
same as keroscene. "spelling ?"
not that i looked into it much
sunflower oil burns with a hard black soot and can block exhaust, cat, turbo etc with its deposits.rapeseed is best, but most veg oil is veg oil.
happy oilying guys ! ! !!!

£106 to £108 around here for the past week or more
even supermarkets.everywhere.
norm diesel too,not super/ultimate etc
ripe off or what ! ! !!
ryan give it a whirl, dont go mad to start
say 75/25 derv/oil
and build up slowly from there
some cars take to it better than others.
get a fuel filter in too, just incase.
it will clean the shit out of your tanks and lines from the fossil fuels.
happy vegging ! !!!
